Matthew - Excellent news on the return of the Affiliate Marketing Blog award. I won't be putting myself forward for the award however because a) My blog's rubbish. and b) I think it's only fair that the nominees should be present at the event. Good luck to those who decide to fight it out.

I'm sure a4uexpo is going to be even better this year, never any doubt about that - I know how much work everyone is putting into it, and I'll be there without a doubt. I'm not sure that the awards are a big enough draw as a stand-alone event though. For me, they were a nice part of a4uexpo, but by no means the highlight. Yes, by all means make it a bigger, more lavish event, but a separate event that I'd have to fork out £500+ to attend? Not one for me mate.

I know I come across as moaning, but I really do hope this event goes well for you mate - It just doesn't do it for me.

David - As regards location, I will have a moan about it being London, but that's more due to the amount of Londoners who think the world ends at the M25 corridor. I agree that for an event such as this, London was the only realistic choice to attract the networks/agencies/press.

And if you get that job offer, I want a finder's fee!

Anyone got any thoughts on the other topics?

Matthew - Surely there are other locations available? The country doesn't start and stop in London. It's a tad bigger than that. Why not somewhere more central like somewhere between Birmingham and Manchester?

As for separating the Awards and the Expo, that seems a little odd. Logistical reasons are cited so I feel it's only right I should brag about my logistics degree and await the job offer! Cardiff's not too far away from Bristol too!

Hey John,

Good point re the blog award, I think this should be re-instated... leave this one with me and I'll see what we can do :)

Perhaps then we may be able to tempt you, but I can see your points.

We felt the awards has the potential to be its own annual summertime event, logistically its hard to organise at the a4uexpo - as you know that in itself is a huge task to manage and it lets us concentrate on the conference and networking opportunities which I promise will not dissapointthis year.

Re location, we really had no other choice than London, as a Bristol based company we feel your pain.... as for the price, we have subsidised affiliate tickets greatly, and if you tie your trip up with numerous meetings it can be worthwhile :)
