Haha! Oh yes. I am pretty sure you could have charged $39.95 for "today only" (for the rest of the year) for that bit of gold that would normally go for over $200! Lol.

I have never been nor will I ever get hooked to those promises. Sorry. I am just not that desperate. I would rather carry on with my 9-5 job but still I shall test my skills by making my own mistakes because I know affiliate marketing, if done properly, can be a rewarding career.

My advice to newbies - if it smells rotten, it probably is.

Hi Ricardo,

Yup, it seems to me the eternal circle of "information sellers" - They get rich by selling the story of how they got rich. Which was by selling information about how to get rich. And it's something that IMO has nothing whatsoever to do with affiliate marketing - the scammers just want to attach themselves to a legit industry.

"many internet marketers have apparently used this strategy to grow rich." - Have they? I've yet to meet a single successful affiliate that used any strategy in an ebook. Most of them taught themselves how to sell stuff on the net - they made some mistakes and learnt from them. That's pretty much all there is to it!

Damn, I could have charged $39.95 (for a limited period) for that "super-hot" nugget of golddust info!

John,

I am not as seasoned as you are at affiliate marketing but already I have formulated the same opinion about these ebooks and ecourses that promise to teach the secrets of the trade. It seems to be all scams but many internet marketers have apparently used this strategy to grow rich.

In my view, one of the few legitimate ways to work as an affiliate marketer is by promoting physical companies and products, like Microsoft, through trusted affiliate networks such as Linkshare, Commision Junction and MoreNiche.

With that said, good luck to all in your pursuit of wealth via the internet!

An interesting piece. Seems to me you tell it like it is. I must read some more of your posts later. Now I must stop reading and get back to doing.
