As we enter a brand new year, thoughts turn to future plans, hopes and dreams for the year ahead. And Lammo’s no different – My resolution for 2008 was simply to keep blogging (My previous attempts at keeping a “diary” of sorts fell by the wayside after less than two weeks, so to still be blogging regularly 19 months after starting this ‘Lil Old blog is nothing short of amazing for me personally), so my resolution for 2009 is going to be to actually blog about stuff that people who read the blog want to read!
That might sound strange (why would people read something they don’t want to read?), but I personally feel that a lot of the posts I’ve made in 2008 have been a little hit and miss – Some of them have been very well received and attracted a lot of comments and discussion from readers. Others (normally the ones that I’ve spent ages writing and think you’re going to love) get virtually no reaction at all. So what better way to find out what Lammo readers want to read about in 2009 than to ask you?
Please, please, please – Let me know what you’d like to see my blog about in 2009 – More “Muppet of the Week” awards? “A Day in the Life” of a particular person, Competitions, How-to-Guides, Q&A? What subject matters would you like to see? I’ve got a few posts lined up aimed at profiting from the recession, but I don’t want to turn into Robert Peston (actually, if I’m writing positive stuff about the recession, then I must be the Ying to Robert Peston’s Yang), so would you like to see any particular area of Affiliate Marketing covered – be it PPC, SEO, Brand Bidding, Discount Codes, Domain Names, Mini-Sites, Deeplinking, Content Units (More on this coming soon too.. watch this space!)
I’ve not covered much Investing stuff in 2008, as the last few Investment articles I wrote bombed, so I’m guessing that no-one wants to read about that – I didn’t really cover the last series of Dragons Den as I found (during the previous series) that I was actually watching the show with a pad of paper taking notes throughout and didn’t enjoy the show as much – for the same reason I won’t be covering The Apprentice in detail when it returns (must be soon now!), but try and stop me mentioning it at some point – It really is the funniest program on telly (apart from Curb Your Enthusiasm of course). Ditto the Mighty Greens – Like it or not you’re stuck with the odd post about how well (or not!) Argyle are doing..
Please, Please let me know what you want to see on Lammo in 2009, either leave me a comment below, or drop me a line

Hi John,
I’m always interested in what motivates people. It could be as simple as money or, in my case, because I have to do something and affiliate marketing fits the way I want to live better than anything else I’ve tried.
More of the same.
You seem to be (IMO) on your way to being nominated for the A4U Blogging Award with your recent content
Personally, I like reading inspirational content – either your history, sites you think are great/useful, who has helped you along the way, what you would do differently if you started again, etc.
I second that David and said exactly the same thing to Lammo just before A4UExpo; this blog is easily a contender for the next blogging award. Too many of the other blogs are drying up at the moment and not really talking about anything of real interest (no citations), especially when it comes to keeping on point with AM. Sure, bloggers interests and opinions on stuff outside of AM can make a refreshing change, but not when that starts to become the norm.
Guides are always a great read, but I’d say Q&A’s are always a sure winner as they give different perspectives on how affiliates tackle certain issues on a personal level, and they also stimulate the most debate in a ‘non-forum’ way!
I’d hazard a guess that this blog attracts a fair few newbies in AM, so maybe open up the field to people and start ‘Lammo’s Affiliate Doctor Clinic’?!
On that note, it’s not very often that you come across AM bloggers that are willing to openly share their take on things in a direct way with real life examples. I understand why people are naturally protective about their own endeavours, but they do make some of the most interesting posts …
Keep it up!
John,
Its a great blog, I think just keep what your doing, turning what can be a very dry topic into an interesting read which holds one’s attention and teaches (myself anyway) something in the face of a a real content onslaught from an exponential number of sources on an infinite number of topics is a fantastic skill. More power to you mate, just keep doing what your doing as far as I am concerned.
Thanks for the suggestions and kind words guys – it’s much appreciated! I can’t see me being nominated for any awards for this blog, but hey, stranger things have happened!
I’ve got a few ideas out of your suggestions for a couple of posts, and maybe a new regular feature or two. I’ll keep more of the motivational/inspirational posts coming.
I’m going to pass on “Lammo’s Affiliate Doctor Clinic” for now though – Kirsty already does a similar thing very, very well, and I don’t think I can hope to compete with her on that.
Keep the suggestions coming please!
I’d like to see more posts about driving traffic both organically and through PPC.
I read all your posts but this is my first comment – I will endeavour to comment more so that you know your posts aren’t being ignored
