		<description>Yeah, it is like the dreaded "vote of confidence" for a footie manager - You would know all about that as a Spurs fan right now - How much longer do you think Tony Soprano will be there?

I find it hard to believe that merchants are still shooting themselves in the foot right before the manic xmas period - They should all be wining and dining the affiliates now, not dropping commissions, changing terms for the worse, or worse of all, shutting down their program (or their network - see "Affiliates are not Taps" article) for Christmas - Who was it that did that last year?</description>

		<description>Nice Blog Entry John &#38; you are right about the opening tag line. It's very much like when a football club makes a statement &#38; says "the manager has the full support of the board."

Straight forward honesty in the example you had re-written, is certainly more palatable than any sickly sugar-coating.

With sales gradually increasing towards christmas, I am just waiting to see who will be the prize turkeys this christmas by radically reducing their commissions or closing their program. We seem to get them every christmas &#38; wonder who they will be this time.</description>
