Looking to sell your business?

There’s a fantastic thread in full swing over at Affiliates4u, as a precursor to a session that I think will fill very quickly at A4uexpo this week, entitled “The Interactive Insiders guide to selling your web business”.

Started by the hosts of next weeks session Duncan Jennings and Sean Lafleur, it has attracted a lot of attention, and many entrepreneurs, including myself have already contributed their opinions and shared their experiences of both selling and buying web businesses.

I blogged about how to sell a site for £100,000+ back in July, and the same advice is coming up in this interactive discussion, particularly with regards to not building sites purely to sell, nd of course questioning whether you really need (or want) to sell. It will also help you to think as a buyer would, and therefore know what they’re looking for from an aquisition.

Why would the “big boys” buy your site? How much should you pay for legal advice? What about due diligence? All these questions and more have already been answered by Duncan, Sean and the contributors in the first week of this discussion.

But it doesn’t end there – The thread will continue to gather pace over the next few days, culminating in the session at a4expo on Thursday afternoon – I’ll certainly be attending this particular session, and I can see the room filling up fast, so I’d suggest getting your seats early for this one!
