Just had a look at the odds for the teams to be promoted from the Coca-Cola Championship in 2007/8, and the best odds available for Argyle is 16/1 – Now that’s not bad considering we finished just 8 points off the play-offs last year, and had the most draws in the division (16/46) – If we’d turned just 4 of those draws into wins, we’d have been in the lottery play-offs. couple that with the fact we ended the season on a high (5 straight wins) and seem to be spending a bit of money this summer, I reckon we’re a strong outside bet.
Don’t think you can go far wrong with West Brom and Wolves as 2 of the favourites for the title though, and the odds on this are fairly generous too – 7/1 and 8/1 respectively.
Who will be this year’s Leeds, Forest, Sheffield Wednesday, QPR, etc, etc? I think Southampton’s worth a punt at 50/1 to be relegated after the parachute payments have run out and the expectation level of the fans remains the same. (Sorry Jason!)
Finally, one bet I’ve picked out for next season that I don’t care what the odds are, it would just be nice to see it happen – Leeds to finish 7th or below or even better (and quite possible if Ken Bates’ dodgy dealings ever catch up with them) Leeds to be relegated to League 2 (or old Division 4 as we know it!)

Hey I see Bristol City are also a 16/1 shot
Yeah, you know how it is – The bookies always make some mistakes… At least you’re only 5/1 to be relegated
Saints to be relegated? I hope not – don’t think we’re in quite the same financial mess that Leeds got into, although there have rumours of administration and takeovers and what have you.
Our season will depend on what Burley does in the transfer market over the next few months (defenders would be a good start).
Whatever happens, the second leg play off against Derby was one hell of a game though!
We are always labeled as underdogs in any league we are in, i remember our first year we won the league under sturrock we started at about 70/1 to win the league and look we walked away with it.
John just one quick question why is your site in the colours of Exeter…lol
