Clarke Duncan did a great post yesterday, offering an objective viewpoint of the current landscape of the networks in the UK, with a positive comment and some constructive criticism for each network. But why write a hundred words when three will suffice?
So therefore, here is my review of most of the UK networks using only three words:
Affiliate Future: Merchants galore! Stats?
Affiliate Window: Feeds. Confusing website.
Affilinet: Wot no merchants?
Buy.at: Geordie Legends. Brands.
Clash Media: Wish they paid.
CJ: Lost for words.
DGM: Don’t work with.
OMG: Oh my God! (Well it has to be doesn’t it?)
Paid on Results: Affiliates’ Affiliate Network.
Smart Quotes: Won’t work with.
TradeDoubler: Best in Show (at the moment)
Webgains: Way too confusing.
There you go Clarke – that’s how you could have saved yourself an hour of writing, or to sum this post up in three words: “Bish. Bash. Bosh.”

Very good post!
I found Smart Quotes to be so good a year ago, they seem to get worse and worse – I can see I am sending them the same or greater amount of clickthroughs and I am getting the same variety of keywords from my natural search traffic, but the commissions are going down and down…. lots of untracked sales nowadays I suspect…. very frustrating..
LOL nice one, wish it was just an hour I spent on that post, started writing it last week and had to keep checking and thinking about the positive and negative for each network, took a good deal of time. Now I didn’t want to leave Paid On Results out of my list as I have a lot of readers and they be wondering why if they don’t know me well enough (I have a discloser page that tells people everything) and I was as far as I could be with that one but I must say it’s harder to look at your own things than it is at others
… but I like your style, nice an quick but I don’t think many of the Networks will learn much from your post LOL .. and word on the street is a number of the other Affiliate Blogs are making posts like this as we speak, so be good to hear what they have to say also.
Mate – Agree with you on each and every one of them!
I was going to do exactly the same as Clarke – now I’m going to have to trump you (I like a challenge!)
Never has “Less is more” been so true. Nice one John.
Paul.
John, as mentioned in Clarke’s blog, webgains appreciate all comments and feedback, to help us improve our service and interface. I would be very interested to get more specific feedback on the issues you are faced with when using your affiliate account, so as to understand better how to address them. Please feel free to drop me an email with your suggestions and comments
